Beginning in late winter/early spring of 2013, Gameloft added "Dino World" to the game. It is essentially another set of land blocks separate to Ice World, with new missions and items to buy in the shop.
When you reach level 25 you will notice that Buck begins to break a layer of ice at the top of the map to try and reach Dino World, and that it says 'locked' in the shop. You can first make Buck break through and open Dino World at level 25 but it costs acorns - 70 to start; every level you advance, the price in acorns drops (by a certain amount of acorns each level), so that it is free when you reach level 35.
You can enter Dino World by pressing the icon above the Dino World hole. There are not a whole lot of new animals or fun stuff that can be purchased with coins or hearts in Dino World until you get higher up in level, so unless you just want to spend a bunch of acorns, there is not much reason to open Dino World early. Once you have unlocked Dino World, Buck will appear as a character who walks around your village and gives you missions.

Several Dino world animals (dinosaurs) can be bought before unlocking Dino World. These are: T-Rex,Steggy, Triceratops, Flying Dino, Orange Archaeopteryx, Diplodocus, Theropod and Spinosaurus (as well as a few limited ones.) Any dinosaurs you have acquired should be automatically moved to your inventory when it is unlocked, where you can place them on the Dino World map. Some users (particularly Kindle users) have found that the dinosaurs just disappeared, so it might be good to take the precaution and move the dinos into your inventory when you get close to reaching level 35, or before you open Dino World. There are many animals, fun buildings and decorations that can only be bought exclusively in Dino World - see Animals (animals in green are ones that are found in the Dino World shop), Fun Stuff and Decorations for details
